New Space Defence Strategy, Foreign Secretary Lays Wreath For Falklands Soldiers & Russia's "Dirty Money"

The Foreign Secretary has visited a Falklands War memorial and laid a wreath in honour of those killed on both sides of the conflict.

Defence Secretary Unveils New Space Defence Strategy

The Government will set out Britain's first defence strategy for space today, with the RAF being given a key role.

The Defence Secretary confirmed he would boost the number of personnel working in the defence space sector by a fifth over five years to more than 600 and announce a review of the UK's participation in the European Galileo satellite programme, after a dispute with the EU.

The Strategy will include plans to protect UK operations against "emerging space-based threats", such as the "jamming of civilian satellites used for broadcasters and satellite navigation to support military capabilities".

Boris Johnson Lays Wreath In Argentina For Falklands Soldiers

The Foreign Secretary has visited a Falklands War memorial and laid a wreath in honour of those killed on both sides of the conflict.

Boris Johnson's travelled to the Argentine capital Buenos Aires to pay his respects.

The move is part of an effort by the UK to reset relations with Argentina after more than a decade in the deep freeze during the presidencies of Nestor and Cristina Kirchner.

Russia's "Dirty Money" Putting UK Security At Risk, MPs Say

MPs have accused the government of threatening national security, by failing to stop what they call "dirty money" from Russia being laundered in Britain.

The Foreign Affairs Committee says funds flowing through the City of London - belonging to allies of President Putin - are being used to try to undermine western democracies.

According to committee chairman and Conservative MP Tom Tugendhat, the UK's "lethargic response is being taken as proof that we don't dare stop them... London's markets are enabling the Kremlin's efforts."
