Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs meets top diplomats in New York
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held meetings with the European Union’s Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos; Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergey Lavrov; Foreign Minister of Argentina, Jorge Faurie; Lebanon’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Gebran Bassil; Norway Foreign Minister, Ine Eriksen; Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Foreign Minister of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis, on the sideline of the 74th UN General Assembly in New York. The meetings dealt with bilateral relations and means to bolster them in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met yesterday with the President of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly , Muhammad-Bande Tijjani, on the sidelines of the session held currently in New York.
During the meeting they reviewed ways to promote cooperation between the State of Qatar and United Nations General Assembly, in addition to issues of common interest.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H E Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani participated in the high-level meeting on Somalia which is organized by Italy, Ethiopia, United States and the Government of Somalia on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, to support Somalia.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also met with Norway’s Special Envoy for the Middle East peace process, Tor Wennesland, in New York. They reviewed ways to promote cooperation and a number of regional topics. In addition, they reviewed issues of common interest.
